MV130 is a mucosal vaccine containing entire heat-inactivated micro organism that protects towards respiratory viral infections by way of mechanisms partially relying on educated immunity. Provided that viral infections and allergic sensitization improve the chance of bronchial asthma growth, Sevilla-Ortega et al (Nat Commun 2025;16:7129; https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-025-62632-x) examined the impact of mucosal vaccination with MV130 in experimental murine bronchial asthma. Vaccination with MV130 prevented home mud mite (HDM)-induced allergic sensitization and eosinophilic airway irritation, restored airway physiology, and conferred sustained safety as much as 9 weeks after therapy discontinuation.
